I must say I love this stage! Now, if we could just work on his sleeping at night.

Halloween Cookies
A while back K and I bought some Halloween cookie cutters and sprinkles to make sugar cookies with. This being the last week of October I figured we better hurry up and use them! I let K take a short rest that day so she could help me make the batter for the cookies. Then after JW woke up we cut and decorated the cookies. And yes Unca B, the cookies were awesome!
Russell enjoyed just watching all the decorating and baking.

Guest and Artwork
The same weekend of K's game we had guest form out of town- Ms. Mallory and Mr. Joel. While I was getting things put away the day our guest were to arrive JW decided he would help me by doing a little decorating. I was in JW's room when K came flying around the corner yelling JW just colored on the wall. She was right not once, not twice, but three times in three different locations. Here he is helping Daddy clean up his masterpiece. The funny thing is I have seen pictures of Brian around this age scrubbing his bedroom wall b/c he had decided to do the same thing!
Soccer Game Part 2
Russell enjoyed the game and was very content to just hang out. Half way through the game K would just follow S around the field.
Finally, near the end of the game K kicked the BALL!!! She has already informed us that she does not want to sign up for soccer again uless JW can play with her. Maybe one of these games she will actually enjoy it?!

Game #2
We finally had another soccer game last weekend and improvement was made, and since I still do not know how to add more than 4 pictures to a post I will have several post on this game. The reason being that the pictures help tell the story(if you click on the photos they are bigger and give a little more detail- maybe next time the right lens will be taken) better than I can. In the first picture you see K on the field with her back to us crying. Then we got her friend S to give her a little pep talk and things got a little better.
Here K is running in the game hand in hand with her pal S. Not thrilled to be out there, but not crying either.

Pumpkin Patch
Tonight he headed to the pumpkin patch to pick out our pumpkins. The kids had a blast running around and exploring for the perfect pumpkins. I think JW touched/lifted every pumpkin that he could. We went right before dinner so I was a bit nervous, but luckily they waited to melt down on the way home.
JW
JW's little personality sometimes comes out so strong. JW loves being a pirate, it his new favorite thing to pretend to be. Check out the sword in the side of his pj's.
Brian came back from a run and had left his earphones on the counter. Here JW is pretending to be Daddy.

We've been ghosted
The other night our doorbell rang and at our door was a ghost and a bag of treats! The kids were so excited. They tried out some of the treats and then we hung our little ghost on our mailbox. Brian makes fun of me b/c some days I will have my sunglasses on my head till late at night, and here I am in the dark at our mailbox with my sunglasses on my head! I guess I wear my sunglasses at night ....so I can,so I can see
Lazy Weekend
Just some random pictures from our lazy, chilly fall weekend. Note that no pictures from soccer have been posted b/c they keep getting canceled due to all the rain we have been having. As you can tell K is real upset over this-Ha!
R and JW supported Daddies team this weekend by wearing their Michigan gear. JW not pictured but was also wearing a Michigan jersey.

Room Service
K was given this pink tray for her birthday two years ago from her friend Olivia. She uses it as a "desk" mainly, but has also been used when sick to eat off of on the couch. Out of no where the other day she asked if she could have breakfast in bed and use her pink tray. I said it was fine but it would need to be on Friday since it is not a school day. I got so tickled Friday morning b/c of what she said that morning. Background info- Our kids always call for us over their monitors (yes all my children still have monitors) when they are ready to wake up. It can be as early as 7:30 to as late as 8:00. They normally say something to affect of Mommy/Daddy I am ready to wake up now. But on Friday she said, "Mommy I am ready to have my breakfast in bed." I went to her room to tell her I would get it ready and needed to get JW up and make a little place for him in her spare bed. They were both so excited! Millie was also kept a watchful eye on the whole situation just in case someone dropped some fruit or a piece of waffle. They did great and can't wait to do it again. K also decided that she wanted to give JW a tray for Christmas! One gift idea down!
Like Father Like Daughter?
Well, last Saturday was K first soccer game. Daddy was very excited since this is his sport. We were all excited and ready for the big game. Or so we thought. As you can tell from the first photo that K quickly changed her tune and was quite timid during warm ups.
And it only got worse once after the game started. She cried EVERY TIME she went on the field! The only time we saw a little grin was during halftime when she was eating snacks. JW on the other hand was ready to jump in at any time! This could be a long season. Things I learned 1) games during her nap time will be tough 2) uniforms should be washed prior to the first game- they are itchy 3) Give her a snack on the way to the game. The next game is in the morning (well rested- check). The uniform has been washed (no itchy outfit-check). She will have a very big snack on the way to the game (full belly-check). I will keep you posted on the outcome!

Answered Prayers
Sorry for the belated post, but we have been enjoying no doctor visits and just enjoying our baby. After meeting with ped. neuro., he felt that at this time Russell does not need surgery. He has some intrusion at his C1 but there is still adequate room for his spine at this time. This will have to monitored and watched closely. We have to go back in December for xrays of his lower back which is bowing out. This is another common problem with achondroplasia babies. We will also have another sleep study done hopefully in December. So thank you to all of you that are out there praying for us. I cannot even describe the joy, relief, and excitement we felt when we left that office and we were not told we needed to see another specialist!!! I realized as I left that it seemed like we had been holding our breathe for the past 4 months. So we have no scheduled doctor appointments till NOVEMBER!!!!! I have rarely even looked at my calendar these past few weeks b/c I don't have to juggle all the doctor appointments!
I will post some more later about what we have been up to lately. We went to meet Brian for lunch and then had friends over for dinner so I am tired and ready for bed.
