AJP

The week D was born I had been volunteering at the church with VBS.  At my doctor hey were already seeing me twice a week for a fluid check and stress test.  On Monday, I went in and everything looked good.  My fluid level was 8 and the baby seemed to be handling everything well.  But on Wednesday night I was in pain and having sporadic contractions.  They stopped after about an hour.  The next morning I was having real sharp pain on my left side at the bottom of my belly.  After talking with the nurse they asked me to come in.  After seeing the doctor they admitted me for observation.  Once I was hooked up to all the monitors the information confirmed what we thought- that the   pain I was having was not due to contractions.   Next I was taken down to have an ultra sound to check the fluid.  I was down to a 3 and we instantly knew that we would be having a baby that day!  Luckily, I had called my mom on the way to the doctor and she was in town by lunch.

Here I am before we headed to the OR.

Ms. Mallory came up that afternoon to help my mom and then came for a quick visit before heading home.

D got a little cut when they delivered him under his right eye.  Although scary, I knew that I could easily pick him out!

Can’t believe Poppy actually held him the first day.  I guess it only took 4 babies for him to remember how to hold a new born.

All I can say about these visitors is that laughing is not fun after a c-section and they would not stop making me laugh!

And since there was not enough going on, K decided to lose her first tooth the night we got home.  Here she is the next morning after she found what the tooth fairy had left.  We still have the tooth because K wrote a note asking the tooth fairy if she could leave the tooth so she could show Tutu.

Swim Team at Brookhiglands

We were so glad to find a swim team for K and JW to be a part of this summer.  K learned so much last summer from swim team that we wanted to continue it this year.  They both enjoyed it and learned a lot from Coach Dawn.

Here is K at her first meet doing the backstroke.

At the beginning of the season JW used a board but not long after he was able to do it without help.  He worked so hard and we were so proud of him.

Summer has begun…

By May we were all ready to begin our summer.  No school or packing lunches just time to have fun.

Last Soccer Game

The last soccer game was unseasonably cool and we had 2 special visitors- Mr. Joel and Mrs. Mallory.  The kids did great and were sad to see the season end.  By the end of the season K really seemed to be understanding the game more.  JW is still easily distracted but always having a good time!

K and JW’s Luau

K had an end of the year program that had a luau theme.  It turned out really cute and everyone did a great job.  One of the songs that just the girls danced to was Lovely Hula Hands.  I had to laugh when I first heard the song because when I was K’s age I took dance and one of the songs we danced to was the exact same one!  Not sure why they are a bit out of order.

Muffins with Mom and Soccer

One morning I was invited to K’s school for Muffins with Mom.  Tutu came up to keep R so that I could go and spend some one on one time with my favorite little kindergarten.  She was so excited.

K really enjoyed being in Kindergarten and loved Mrs. Henke!

Both K and JW enjoyed playing soccer this spring through the church.

And what kind of soccer game would it be if you did not have oranges?  They were not watching or cheering on JW, who was playing during their snack time.

R’s Second Birthday and the rest of May

We decided to have R’s party little bit before his actual birthday.  By now I was definitely feeling pregnant and knew that it would just be easier on everyone if it was earlier rather than later.  DSC_5345DSC_5355DSC_5364DSC_5380

It was very laid back and relaxing.  We had both sets of grandparents, Unca B, Auntie M, and our good friends the Kendrick's.  Cannot believe my little baby boy is turning two!  He is such a happy, sweet boy that is very independent.  He may not be able to do all the things the same way that K and JW can but that does not stop him from finding his way to do it!
