Party Weekend cont
And 2 monkeys that think they should join in the fun. Make that 3 monkeys- one is just a lot younger than the other two! Luckily Poppy and Unca B were able to walk the next day! K had a wonderful birthday and was so excited that all her friends come and play!
Birthday Weekend
Since K's party was almost a month ago I thought I better
post now or never! The first picture is evidence that our baby girl is growing up. Millie only snuggles with people that will sit still for longer than 2 minutes. K was very proud that Millie wanted to snuggle with her!
These two are watching and waiting for Grandma and Grandpa Pete to arrive!
Saturday morning K opened presents from Grandma, Grandpa Pete, and Great Grandma Paoli. Here she is trying out her new cozy robe!
We have always had K's party at home but this year she wanted to invite her whole class so we decided to have it somewhere instead. It was a very dreary day but almost everyone braved the weather and came to celebrate with us!

Sick Days
Well, this is the last pic I could find of my crew where we were all healthy. OK- maybe not all R did have an ear infection but was very happy none the less. K was very mellow over the weekend and then would run a low fever at night. She stayed home most of the week and headed back for school yesterday. We kept her home on Wed. thinking she was not 100% and by the end of the day it was VERY apparent that she was over spending QT with the family and wanted to see her friends! By Tuesday night I had caught something and told Brian that there was no way that I could handle all 3 alone the next day. Two would of been possible but not all 3. By Wednesday I only left the bed to eat or nurse R. I had the energy level of a slug! But as I laid in bed these were some of the comments that stuck with me.
BP-(yelling from downstairs-kids upstairs) SH! Remember guys Mommy is trying to rest.
JW- Is that calling?
BP- Yes, but it is curling JW not calling.
BP-Come on Olympic hockey is way cooler than kid shows
BP- Man, R I have feed you 3 times today.
BP-I have changed 4 dirty diapers, isn't there a limit?
JW- We can't find K's mmmm pecker.
Me- What?
JW- We can't find K's mmm pecker.
Me- It is called a wood pecker and it is not K's it just lives in a tree near her window.
All in all it was a good day and I did get tickled just listening to all the commotion. Thankfully Tutu came mid morning on Thursday and helped till BP got home. I am running at about 80% and feel so much better. Not sure what we had but I hope it is out the door and gone for good. CANNOT wait for warmer temps and get these kiddos outdoors!

Breaking the Law and Keeping a Promise
Thursdays are a busy day for my crew and this one was even a bit more eventful than most. K has dance after school on Thursdays so after I bring the boys home and eat lunch we then head back out to pick up K. Well, on our way home yesterday we passed the high school and elementary school like we do everyday except for this time a police man pulled us over. He caught me speeding through a school zone. Let me clarify that it was the high school that was about to start dismissal and once I passed the high school I did not think any more about the school zone and resumed to the normal speed limit. But since it backs up to the elementary school (which was not dismissing for another hour) it is one big school zone. Now, I was completely in the wrong and deserved the ticket but the nice officer only gave me a warning. During all this the kids were very confused and asking tons of questions.
K- Who is in trouble, who called the police?
Me- No one did, Mommy was not following the rules and now I am in trouble.
JW- Can we go now?
Me- No, we have to wait for the police officer to write mommy a ticket and come and talk to me about following the rules.
K- Are you sad?
Me-Yes, I am very sad and Daddy will be too.
K-What is a ticket?
Me- Well, it is kind of like a time out for adults
JW- Hey, he has a walkie talkie like me. Why does he have one.
Me-So that someone can tell him where to go if someone is really hurt and needs his help or if someone is REALLY breaking the rules and he needs to go catch them.
Later that night JW played with his police officer helmet(he is wearing it in the picture above). You wear the helmet and hold the motorcycle handle bars and run around and pretend you are a motorcycle cop. It talks to you and makes siren noises- it is actually a neat toy. But the part that made me laugh was when he kept running through the room and throwing the little "breaking the law" tickets that it came with at me as he passed by.
The other funny of the day came later that night. We are still having a time getting JW to go big stuff in the potty. The other night Brian had him pinkie promise that he was going to get all his big stuff in the potty. Well, last night after he had been in bed for 30 min or more JW called out that he needed to go potty. Brian took him to the bathroom and JW did big stuff in the potty. After Brian was tucking him back in and was telling him how proud he was he asked if he remembered the pinkie promise. JW replied "Yes, and now I get to keep my pinkie". Guess we need to go back over what a pinkie promise really is!

Snow Part III
We had a fun day enjoying the snow. After the morning fun the kids came in for hot chocolate. Well, JW just drank water with marsh mellows- he is not a big fan of chocolate.
Here is the snowman turned snow fort. The kids and Daddy had a good time building this fort and were very proud when they finally finished.
Snow Part II
Since I still can't post more than 4 pics this will have to be in 2 post. R enjoyed hanging out by the remains from our snowman that was made yesterday. This became the base for the fort they later made. After awhile R and I headed in to watch from the warmth of the indoors. Once K noticed we were watching from the window she came over to check on her favorite little guy.
Snow!
On Friday afternoon we were scheduled to have snow and snow it did! This would have been great had we not had to go to the doctor's office that afternoon. K had her 5 yr visit and R had his 9 mon. visit. Tutu was planning on coming up to keep JW (since it was during nap time) but due to the weather I asked her not to come. So the four of us hopped in the car and headed to Atlanta for our appointment. On the way the snow starts to fall and the kids were thrilled. Unfortunately, we then had to go spend the next hour in a little room( with Daddy, during normal nap time) knowing that it was snowing like crazy outside! Needless to say Brian and I were EXHAUSTED after the appointment! The kids did great- just excited to get home and play. K and R had great appointments and are right on track. It still is a little hard to watch them plot R's growth chart. And true to tradition R surprised us with an earache! All 3 of our babies went in for their 9 month well check and all surprised us with an earache. He, just like his siblings, was showing no signs of discomfort or pain.
When we got home Daddy, the kids, and Millie headed out to play in the snow before coming in for dinner.

This morning we headed back outside to really play. As you can see everyone was all smiles this morning! More pictures to come!!!

Valentine Prep and Parties
Well, we started working on some special valentines a 2 weeks ago but were sent rather late. But I am one that celebrates V-day all month long, so hopefully the GP's won't mind. We had to make cookies for JW class party. I know this is a horrible picture of me, but my little chefs look great and were so excited!
JW enjoying his balloon at his party. Andrea's great idea for the "treat" for the kids at the party. They loved it and it beats a lot of junk you would just through away when the kids weren't looking! It also was a very festive decoration for the party.
K loving on her favorite valentine R! It was a full day and R was such a trooper. He made it through both parties and by the end of this one he was passed out in my arms.
Birthday Girl
K had a blast at school on the day of her birthday. When asked what treat she wanted to take to school she asked for Krispy Kreme donuts. Since her special day is so close to February they had their Valentine donuts available. She was so excited that they were heart shaped and covered in sprinkles. I must say that all the kids LOVED the donuts- sorry mommies if your angels were a little hyper due to the extra sugar! Later that night we opened up some presents and blew out candles after dinner.
(I made a birthday banner for K and while I worked on hers she made her own-which is hanging in the background of this photo. She loves anything crafty!)

Toomer Girls
Every year some of my favorite college buddies get together around Christmas for an ornament exchange. Well, really we just use this as an excuse to get together and visit. It is amazing how much this group has changed and grown in the past 5 years when we first began this tradition. A lot has changed in all of our lives since we left the plains and so many different roads have been taken. It is amazing how much joy has been experienced in all our lives since we left college but also some REALLY tough, life changing events as well. I feel so blessed to have had these amazing ladies in my life through college but how special to still have them in my life today.
Lots of fun was had and only some of the kiddos were present. Everyone brought their babies and left the older ones at home with the Daddies! Johnny was such a trooper(being the only big kid) and my new best friend most of the afternoon! Love that kid- such an awesome personality. The first pic. is the only one I have of Viv and yes the shoe was quickly taken away.
*Correction- Mara's sweet baby Miles is the newest addition but he was eating while this picture was taken. He has more hair than all these 3 babies have put together!!!!
I already miss you all and can't wait for the next one or maybe we will have other reasons to meet before the next ornament exchange!!! Love you girls!

Little Snow
Christmas Again
We had a wonderful low key New Year with our pals the Hamilton's. I can't find the pictures, and if I knew how to add links I could just link it to Kathy's post-maybe someday I will learn all the tricks. We had been invited to attend a murder mystery dinner with some other families, but with R going to bed early we had to pass.
Unca B and Miss Melissa were in Canada for Christmas so we celebrated a little late with them. Unca B picked out some great gifts for the kiddos- here JW is with his Viking hat! And here Poppy is modeling the viking hat!
Tutu taught the kids how to play Old Maid- he played it ALL NIGHT LONG. Don't I look real happy about playing it for the 1ooth time.
