K's Egg Hunt and the Spill

K had a great time at her egg hunt. Her she is before the hunt with one of her pals Mary Kate. I did not get any action shots of the hunt b/c I was trying to make sure JW stayed out of the way. K was a great big sister- she let JW help her find eggs! They had a blast.

The Sunday before Easter Sunday JW took a fall head first down our garage stairs. It was very scary but he was a champ. Only one or two sniffles and then he was ready for dinner. Someone was definitely watching over him b/c those stairs are VERY steep.

Family T-Ball and Ms. Mallory

I am way behind, seeing that these are from March! Daddy and the kids love to play ball in the driveway. The helmet JW is sporting was given to us from some friends-their son's "too small" baseball gear. It included a bag, several gloves, and the much loved(by JW) and worn helmet. Thanks Stephanie! JW loves to play but has a hard time when the game does not go his way.

In the middle of March we had a special guest come to visit. My best friend Mallory headed over and had planned on spending a few days with us. She arrived on a Tuesday and was feeling tired. She kept saying that she had these horrible knots in her neck and thought it was tension. So being motherly I felt the "tension knots" and realized those were not knots but her lymph nods! I told her she might want to see a dr. b/c her body was fighting something. The day continued and she quickly realized she was indeed sick. She left the next morning and made her way to her dr. She ended up with Strep and thankfully we all scooted right on by without our crew coming down with it!! We were all really sad she had to cut her visit short-K's reply to this was "guess it means she will have to come back again really soon"!! The picture below was the only night she was there. I made her a cake since her b-day was the next week and it must have been foreshadow for how the rest of the visit was to go. If you look you can see how UGLY the cake turned out- still tasted good though! I have made this cake so many times and this time I forgot one crucial step- GREASE THE PANS! It was very comical and yes every last crumb was eaten!

R came a month later

The cats and one mouse will paint. The day of R's pre-op Tutu took K and JW for the night. Since Brian and I had till Saturday evening with only one kiddo we decide to start one of our many projects. We actually started and finished that weekend!!!! It is amazing what you can accomplish with just a little bit of uninterrupted work time. Since R still takes 2 naps a day we really got a lot done.

Both kids also sang some songs for the Mom's this week. JW's class just stood there and the teachers and parents did most of the singing!

K's class, on the other hand, sang their little hearts out! The beautiful necklace she is sporting was a treasure she found at Nana and Pappy's house- it was one of my grandma's.

They really got into the motions of this song!

Flashback Friday- March/Easter 2005

O, the days of having one child!! Brian's Grandma lives in Northern Michigan and had flown south to spend some time with Brian's family in Florida. So we loaded up and headed down so Grandma Paoli could meet her newest great granddaughter!

The rest of these were taken at my parents Easter weekend- our first Easter with a baby. This is one of my all time favorite pics of K and her Daddy. So sweet- I tried to recreate this with our boys and it did not work. Just goes to show you can't make a sweet moment, they just happen- and those are truly the best.

One of my favorite people from college sent our little K this jacket when she was born. I love the picture. You can just hear her saying I can't believe you are making me wear a duck jacket!

Tubes

This little guy did great on Monday. He was a lot calmer than he was before the MRI last August. We were the first appointment of the day so that helped- no delays! They took him back at 7:30 and was in recovery by 7:45 and back to us by 8:00! He was as mad as a hornet too! He finally calmed down when he put him in the car seat to go home. He slept the whole way home and was fine after that. Brian headed back to work and we came home- picked up Tutu- and JW and ran some errands. The rest of the day he was on his normal routine and normal laid back self. We tried to give him some Tylenol before bed just in case but he spit it up- so much for that. I was a little worried what the night might bring but he did fine. Thanks for all the prayers. We are so grateful that there are so many that love and care for our R!

Winter Olympics

During the Winter Olympics K and JW were obsessed with ice skating. They would take their little chairs and place them on their backs next to the couch. This was where they stood when they were waiting to "perform". Here K is showing us her routine. (K is wearing her shirt backwards because it was "Backwards Day" in her class.)

The thing that cracked me up was when they would come of the "ice" and pretend to put the blade guards on their imaginary skates!

March 1, 2010

On the first day of March there was a hint of warmer weather so we headed outside! One of the kids favorite things to do is dig in the dirt. This is kind of a sore spot for some older family members since it reminds us that we have no grass! O well, we had grass once I am sure we can do it again as long as there is no 2 year drought.

Here is our happy little R apparently sticking his tongue out at me!

Prayers and Tubes for R

Please pray for our little R. We are off to the hospital bright and early for tubes. Not a long or lengthy procedure but surgery none the less. So please send a little pray up for R and his doctors. Since he is the youngest patient we get to go first- we have to be there at 6:00 and his surgery is scheduled for 7:30. Thanks for the prayers!

Flashback Friday- March 2008

These were taking just 2 years ago one day just enjoying the warmer temps! We have been busy these days doing exactly the same thing. We had a special visitor this week that deserves it own post!

K has always been referred to as our bag lady. On this particular occasion she said she was packing up to go on a trip. I can't remember exactly where she was going but I do know it was one of the following three: Crystal Lake, Poppy and Tutu's, or Grandma and Grandpa Pete's!

Flashback Friday

Since I have not been a blogger for long I thought it would be fun on Fridays to go back and find old pics of my babies! These were from May 2007. K was 2 1/2 and JW was 10 months. The first pic is from our 1st vacation with just the 4 of us! It was a ROUGH trip- K was getting over a stomach bug and the weather was terrible. A trip that Brian and I still laugh about to this day!

One of my favorite memories of all our babies is this face below. I love it when they wake up all happy and ready for the day. Too bad they don't wake up this happy anymore!

ENT and Puppets

We are off to the ENT tomorrow for our regular check-up. R has had several ear infections since our last visit so it will be interesting to see how close we are to tubes. I kind of feel that if he could just have a break from all his colds his ears would be fine. Due to his Anchondroplasia they will not wait for him to have as many ear infections as the average child b/c his anatomy is one that hinders his ears to drain properly. Tubes are the least of our worries but if we can avoid them that would be great!

Our other two LOVE anything crafty! Here they are working on the gp's special valentines.

For K's b-day she got several neat art projects. One was sent from her cousins Michael, Allison, and Patrick. Now, I do like for them to sit down with "old school" art supplies and let them create whatever but this Momma also LOVES a kit that includes everything you need and is easy for the kiddos to do mostly on there own.(which means R can be awake while this is going on) This particular one was a sock pocket and they really liked it. I wish I could say that they then quietly sat and had a puppet show together but instead they just chased each other around the house! I guess that was asking a bit too much since they had worked together so well while creating their puppets together.

O- and with many of our "projects" JW usually loses interest after about 5 minutes and this is what he looks like!
